The Snail Trail.......
It's wet, it's windy, it's Wales!
Back less than a week and still washing dog beds and clothes! Wales is a bit of a showing highlight for those on the Snail Trail. We generally stay at WKC for at least four or five days and make a real break of it.
Jennie and Steve started it some years ago now. They bought a caravan and took to the snail trail. We joined shortly after and have now added regulars Mike and Julie, Sharon and David, and Sue and Terry. This month saw our newest snail trail member Linda join up at Leeds.
Every weekend throughout the summer you can find us camped at the shows. The dog showing has become almost secondary to the new friends we've made, the laughs we have and the mischief we get up to.
And we've seen some funny things camping (and I'm not just talking about Jennie in her pjs). People really do pack everything but the kitchen sink - we've seen parrots, canaries, a cat and a rather menacing looking bird of prey on the campsites.
But back to Linda..... Linda arrived on site on the Friday evening not to offers of help pitching her tent but to a row of seats as everyone sat round to watch the poor girl pitch up for the first time! What a rotten lot!
Kindly Mike and Julie had supplied a porta poti but not so kindly filled the bottom with chocolate Brazils.
Linda bravely struggled on until the lads finally gave in to the guilt and helped her finish putting the tent up.
